After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Dr. Besser earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Boston University School of Medicine, subsequently completing his residency at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and New York Medical College. Dr. Besser was awarded the title of Chief Resident in Ophthalmology during his senior year.

As a founding member of Angeles Eye Institute in Culver City, Dr. Besser specializes in refractive cataract surgery and laser vision correction. He also provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, managing a wide breadth of acute and chronic eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, red/dry eyes, and chalazion removal.
Dr. Besser is also a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Jules Stein Eye Institute-UCLA, and teaches advanced cataract surgery to medical residents at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Besser enjoys a distinguished reputation in the ophthalmology community for his surgical skill and high success rate. He is also well regarded for high ethical standards, clear communication skills and an ability to establish rapport with patients.
