Dr. Besser is a Medical and Surgical Ophthalmologist and founding member of Angeles Eye Institute located in Culver City, CA.
He specializes in refractive cataract surgery and laser vision correction.
He also provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care, managing a wide breadth of acute and chronic eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, red/dry eyes, and chalazion removal.

Dr. Besser is invested in advancing eye surgery excellence beyond the walls of his own practice. He’s passionate about helping equip residents and fellows with the skills they need to be amazing surgeons.
Teaching at a research institution also helps keep Dr. Besser at the forefront of the latest technology, techniques, and science of ophthalmology.
Biography
Originally born in Mexico City, Dr. Besser moved with his family to the US when he was eight years old.
As an undergraduate at UCSB, he found his volunteer work at the university health clinic to be his most fulfilling experience. Ultimately, he pursued medicine to help and connect with others.
As a medical student, Dr. Besser found his calling in ophthalmology, a challenging blend of surgery's intense technical precision and medicine's nuanced human connection.
He continues to be inspired by ocular surgeries that so drastically improve a patient's health and quality of life in a matter of minutes.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Besser values the relationships built through ongoing care with patients experiencing glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other chronic conditions.

Local and International Volunteer Work
Dr. Besser is committed to serving the Los Angeles community by donating his services locally. Over the years he has screened patients for the Venice Family Clinic, often providing free services to patients who otherwise have no access to care, and volunteered for Care Harbor megaclinic events at the LA Sports Arena.
He has also participated in multiple pro bono medical/surgical missions to Mexico and Nicaragua.
